Many people do not know that the St. Pete Beach Police Department has their very own St. Pete Beach Jail. As of 2020, St. Pete Beach is the only city within the county to have their own jail.

The St. Pete Beach Police Department is the agency involved in the operations, safety, and custody of everyone that walks through their doors.

All the offenders that the city jail sees are those who were arrested locally. Most of these offenders will be brought out on bail, but those who were not given bail will be then transported down to the Pinellas County facility.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

As previously mentioned, majority of the inmates in the St. Pete Beach Jail are not here very long. So, the St. Pete Beach Jail does not accept any incoming mail or packages. If you try to send an inmate any mail or packages when they are in the facility, they will be brought back to you.

It is best to wait until he or she is sent off to the county facility before sending any mail.

Sending Money

Inmates in the St. Pete Beach Jail will not need any funds. You will not be permitted to send inmates in the St. Pete Beach Jail any sort of money as there is no commissary available for them to purchase anything.

Once the inmate is sent off to the county facility, then there you will be allowed to send money.

Phone calls

Inmates are only permitted to call you by calling collect calls from the St. Pete Beach Jail. You are the only person responsible for all fees that are charged when this call takes place. The inmate or the St. Pete Beach Jail is not responsible.

Visitation

Visitation here at the St. Pete Beach Jail is not permitted. As mentioned before most inmates are here for an average of 72 hours. You will be required to wait for him or her to be sent to the county facility before you can visit them.
